BANK NOTE PLACE

MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL/ADAPTIVE USE

Bank Note Place is a 118 unit loft condominium conversion located in Chicago's South Loop. SMNG A completed Phase I design for the project after initial design work had stalled and continued design and construction work for all subsequent work.

The project is composed of three buildings that wrap around a private landscaped courtyard at street-level. A new underground parking garage is located beneath the courtyard. Three floors were added to the existing north building, and a new building was inserted at west end of the courtyard, carefully blending contemporary design with the original building’s historic features. Unit plans vary from deep layouts with borrowed light bedrooms to penthouse duplex homes with expansive outdoor terraces.
