EFFIE ELLIS
CHILDCARE
This new early learning center, designed and constructed for Centers for New Horizons is located on a prominent street corner in Chicago’s historic Bronzeville community. The perceived size of the facility is mitigated through façade and volumetric treatment of the building. A red brick, more traditional volume is located near the intersection mirroring the traditional street set-backs in the neighborhood and contrasting, less ornate, volumes set back from the street.
